The invention relates to compounds of the formula Q and n are as described herein. The compounds of formula I inhibit enzyme carnitine acyltransferase 1 (CAT-1) and are therefore useful in the prevention of injury to ischemic tissue, and can limit infarct size, improve cardiac function and prevent arrhythmias during and following a myocardial infarction.
