<p>PURPOSE:To provide a paper feed device for an image forming mechanism by which mounting of a paper sheet receiving part and existence of paper sheet in the paper sheet receiving part can be detected at low cost by providing a judging means for existence of paper sheet to judge no existence of paper sheet in the paper sheet receiving part when a mounting detecting means is changed to a non-mounting detecting condition by a changeover means. CONSTITUTION:When a cassette 20 receiving paper sheets is mounted in a copying machine main body 1, a first connector 41 is connected to a second connector 42 so as to form a detecting circuit, and the electric potential of GND is input from a control circuit 44a to CNP 43. By pushing the print switch of a operation panel, a solenoid 33 is ON, and after the lapse of 100ms, existence of paper sheets in the cassette is detected by the potential input to the CPU 43. At this time, because a reed switch 40 is left to be closed at contacts, the potential input to the CUP 43 is the same as that of the GND, and it is judged that the paper sheets exist in the cassette 20. A drive motor 27 is driven, and the paper sheet is led to a paper sheet transport passage by the driving force.</p> |
