<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a lubricating agent containing a specific polyfunctional carboxylic acid ammonium salt, having low coefficient of friction, capable of retaining lubricating effect over a long period, excellent in durability and low volatility and useful for magnetic recording medium, etc. CONSTITUTION:The lubricating agent contains a polyfunctional carboxylic acid ammonium salt expressed by the formula n is 2-4; Rf is perfluoropolyether chain having 3000-10000 average molecular weight; R<1> and R<2> are H or alkyl; R is di-, tri- or tetravalent organic group). Furthermore, the lubricating agent is preferably applied onto a magnetic recording medium having a magnetic layer on a nonmagnetic support and forming a protective film on the outermost layer.</p> |
