PURPOSE:To form a stable vapor phase area on a certain surface in liquid, and to change the size and the shape of the formed stable vapor phase area. CONSTITUTION:A welding torch 2 on which a device 1 to form a stable vapor phase area adjacent to a surface 4 to be welded is fitted on the tip of the torch 2, are installed. A curtain flow whose spouting angle differs, by flowing shield liquid to a selected conduit connecting to a spouting port to be used out of the conduits 5a, 5b and 5c from a shield liquid supply source, is attained. The flow speed of the shield liquid spouted out from spouting ports 17a, 17b and 17c, is adjustable by adjusting a liquid supply flow rate and a pressure from the shield fluid supply source. In this way, an effective shield distance of the liquid curtain, is adjusted. |
