PURPOSE:To prude the brick excellent in resistance to slag infiltration, spalling and erosion, removability of molten-steel impurities, etc., by forming the brick with the calcia coated with a fine powder not forming a low-temp. molten material and encapsulated and a carbon material as the main components. CONSTITUTION:In the calcia and carbon brick with calcia nd a carbon material as the main components, the calcia is coated with a fine powder not forming a molten material with the calcia at low temp. to prevent the slaking of calcia, encapsulated and used. Although the chemical or physicochemical process such as interfacial polymerization and coacervation is known as the microcapsulating process, the inorg. material itself is incapable of being treated by such a process, and accordingly the calcia is encapsulated by the physical and mechanical processes. The encapsulated calcia and carbon material are kneaded by ordinary high-speed mixer, kneader mixer, etc., by adding a binder. The coating agent is not released in the kneading process but forms a firm coat. |
