PURPOSE:To prevent the service life of a booster from being shortened by eliminating useless power consumption in a power supply and the booster. CONSTITUTION:A power supply 3 of a terminal equipment of a CATV system is provided with a current sensor 4 detecting power current of a receiver 2, and a power switch 5 closed when the current sensor 4 detects the power current of the receiver 2 and opened when the current sensor 4 detects no power current of the receiver 2 is provided between the current sensor 4 and a booster 1. On the power supply 3 is provided to the terminal equipment of the CATV system, and the power supply 3 is provided with a power switch turning on/off the power supply and the home terminal of the terminal equipment is provided with a power supply control section applying the control signal used to turn on/off the power switch.
