The object of the method of the invention is to improve the closure of a kraft-type cardboard package, particularly made from recycled material, with the aid of an adhesive strip. It consists in impregnating the cardboard, prior to application of the strip, with a covering product over at least certain zones (18) of the package among those on which the strip is likely to be applied during the operation of closing the said package. The covering product is, for example, a water-based printing ink whilst the strip has an acrylic-based adhesive. The parallelepipedal kraft-type cardboard box with closure by means of flaps, according to the invention, includes zones (18) impregnated with covering product which are located on the sides (2, 4) close to the flaps and, optionally, on the edges of the latter, the said zones being intended to recieve the application of an adhesive strip upon closure of the box. <IMAGE>
