PURPOSE:To prevent a failure in fixing caused by the drop of the temperature of a fixing roller just after the warming up of an electrophotographic system image forming device and at the time of resuming after a printing action is suspended. CONSTITUTION:When the heating roller 12 of a fixing unit 11 reaches a first prescribed temperature J1, the printing action is started, but at this time, the heating roller 12 is controlled so as to maintain a second prescribed temperature J2 higher than the first prescribed temperature J1, fixing processing is attained and simultaneously, the cumulative value of the rotation time of the heating roller 12 in the intermittently repeated printing action is counted. When the cumulative value exceeds a prescribed value, the heating roller 12 is controlled so as to maintain the first prescribed temperature J1 and the fixing processing is continued. Moreover, a printing action suspending time is counted and when the printing action is suspended for a specified time or more, the heating roller 12 is controlled so as to maintain the second prescribed temperature J2 higher than the first prescribed temperature J1, against and the fixing processing is resumed. |
