PURPOSE: To provide a glucose sensor with short stabilizing time by supplying a controlled current to the electrode of the sensor in a sufficient density for a sufficient time prior to the use of the sensor to pretreating the electrochemical sensor put into a medium. CONSTITUTION: Prior to the use of a sensor, a tip 11 is preliminarily heat-sealed, and inserted to a first cavity to the inside of a closed double cavity polyethylene canula 10. An opening 12 is cut on the wall of the canula 10 to expose the active surfaces of the electrodes 13, 14, 15 of the sensor to the circumferential tissue after movement. After a gauge needle is inserted to the subcutaneous of the venter of a dog, for example, to insert the sensor to the formed tunnel, the gauge needle is removed from the canula 10, and the sensor is fixed to the skin. A negative current is supplied to a working electrode after this transportation, and thereafter, a prescribed positive current is immediately supplied to the sensor. |
