PURPOSE:To indicate a desired road map on a display again by allowing a control part to search for strings within a display range, storing a desired string selected by a user out of the strings by allowing it to correspond to coordinates, and by reading the desired string. CONSTITUTION:Coordinates indicating a cursor position is registered in a RAM 14 in a control part 11 and strings within a set display range are searched for. Then, the strings with the coordinates within the display range are searched for in the working RAM 14 for executing search. A CPU 12 calculates and processes data in the RAM 14 for generating display data and the display data are stored in the VRAM 14. Then, the screen of a road map appears and only a plurality of searched strings are displayed. A cursor key 7 is operated for moving a cursor to any one of the strings, thus enabling a user to select a desired string. When an F1 key is turned on, the most desirable string is registered in the RAM 14 within the control part 11 while it corresponds to coordinates. |
