PURPOSE:To provide a tape printing device which can print the characters, etc., with proper margins secured at both sides of each printed character, etc., even when the dot pattern data length of the text produced based on the character width exceeds the right and left margins set according to the text data length calculated based on the character pitch. CONSTITUTION:The left margin is set at a position shifted to the left on an image buffer from the evolution starting position by an extent equal to the minimum dot width (S10). Meanwhile the right margin is set at a position shifted to the right from the end edge of the text length calculated based on the character pitch data by an extent equal to the minimum dot width (S10). When the head or end edge of the dot pattern data evolved on the image buffer based on the character width data exceeds the left or right margin (YES of S12), the set positions of both margins are shifted to the left and right sides from each present position by an extent equal to the minimum dot width respectively (S13). |
