PURPOSE:To obtain even the map information or traffic information of a remote area before going to the area. CONSTITUTION:FM multiplex broadcasting stations 1-1, 1-2,... multiplex- broadcast the map data of a prescribed area at the surrounding of each station. In an on-vehicle FM multiplex broadcasting receiver 10, at the time of tuning each FM multiplex broadcasting station, a data demodulating circuit 19 demodulates received data, and a decoder 20 arranges the data for each service, and a memory 21 stores the data. When a map data registering operation is performed by a control part 22, a registering and retrieving part 25b of a controller 25 inputs the map data received from the present receiving station from the memory 21, and an outside storage device 26 stores the map data made to correspond to a broadcasting frequency for each station. When a tuning operation is performed, the registering and retrieving part 25b of the controller 25 retrieves the map data related with the same broadcasting frequency as the received frequency from the outside storage device 26, and a plotting part 25c plots a map picture in a video RAM 25d based on the retrieved map data. The picture plotted in the video RAM 25d is displayed on a display device 24. |
