The invention relates to an opening roof system, particularly for a veranda, comprising two sections/rafters (21), and transverse slats (1, 2) resting via their sides on the sections/rafters and connected to the latter by means of a rotation pin capable of enabling them to be pivoted about their upper longitudinal edge. This roof system includes, in addition, a longitudinal piece (34) linking the slats (1, 2) and means (40, 41) for displacing the said linking piece along a path adapted for entraining a simultaneous pivoting of the blades (1, 2). This roof includes, moreover, lower, upper, lateral (28) and intermediate sealing means capable of guaranteeing that the roof is leaktight when the slats (1, 2) are in the closed position. <IMAGE>
