PURPOSE:To obtain a method for synthesizing a bromine complexing agent wherein cost reduction is performed in an electrolyte used for a zinc-bromine battery and further various operations for obtaining this electrolyte can be simplified. CONSTITUTION:As a method for synthesizing a bromine complexing agent in an electrolyte for a zinc-bromine battery, in a mixture of N-methylmorpholine and N-methylpyrrolidine which are materials, reaction of ethyl bromide is performed with ion exchange water serving as a solvent, to obtain the electrolyte containing N-methyl-N-ethylmorpholinium bromide and N-methyl-N- ethylpyrrolidinium bromide, produced according to a progress of reaction, as the bromine complexing agent. Ratio of ethyl bromide relating to a mixture total amount of N-methylmorpholine and N-methylpyrrolidine is set to 1:1.05 mole ratio, and concentration of N-methylmorpholine or N-methylpyrrolidine is set to 3mol/l or more. |
