Antitheft device, acting by cutting the fuel supply circuit of any type of motor vehicle. The antitheft device is characterised in that it comprises a solenoid valve (13) placed in the tank (16) in a closed position when it is off, connected to the fuel intake pipe (11) and integrated with a unit comprising a coil and a connector (12), an encoded-message infrared or other type signal transmitter (3), a remote message-decoding signal receiver (2), a personalisable code-control electronics board (15) connected to the solenoid valve by a wire (8) and which, after identification of the message sent by the receiver, authorises and commands powering of the solenoid valve which opens itself. Application to the protection of motor vehicles against theft. <IMAGE>
