METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REMOVING UNNECESSARY CABLE FROM EMBEDDED CONDUIT AND TRAVELING VEHICLE SUITABLE FOR WORK IN EMBEDDED CONDUIT

PURPOSE:To allow efficient and economical removal of long cable without producing noise by inserting a pole, provided with a water jet cutting nozzle, in the axial direction of the cable and ejecting high pressure liquid toward the cable thus cutting the cable. CONSTITUTION:When a nozzle 6 is advanced while ejecting forward high pressure liquid fed from a high pressure liquid supply, the high pressure liquid bores the central part of a group of cables and a pole is pushed therein along with the nozzle 6. When the pole 7 is then rotated on its axis while ejecting the high pressure liquid normally or obliquely forward with respect to the axis, the cable is cut off at a part separated from the end thereof by the length of the pole 7. The cable is drawn out when a traveling vehicle 1 is retracted while catching the end part of cable by means of a chuck 9.
