PURPOSE:To provide a picture processor capable of detecting paper money or the like to be an object by one scanning. CONSTITUTION:Prescribed picture information (RGB of 400 DPI) are successively inputted to a specific pattern detection means 1, a mosaic pattern shaded off by lowring resolution to 25 or 12.5 DPI is formed in the detection means, pattern matching (coarse retrieval) is performed for the mosaic pattern, a candidate pattern likely to be a target specific pattern is detected and the information is sent to a specific pattern segmentation means 2. In the segmentation means 2, since the latest picture information before being shaded off supplied to the detection means is stored while being successively reloaded, after the prescribed part of picture data relating to the above-mentioned candidate pattern is transferred and a prescribed segmentation processing is performed, output to the specific pattern matching means 3 of a succeeding stage is performed and whether or not the candidate pattern is the specific pattern is discriminated there independently from the coarse retrieval. |
