PURPOSE:To provide a solid dye laser free of cracks being high in quantum efficiency, easy to handle and excellent in workability, mechanical strength, environmental resistance and age stability and stably holding a laser-oscillating organic pigment and also provide the manufacture of the solid dye laser. CONSTITUTION:In the solid dye laser comprising a laser-oscillating organic dye contained in a medium formed by the hydrolysis of a silane derivative- containing hydrolytic material, the silane derivative-containing hydrolytic material includes a silane compound represented by formula (1): R<1>SiX<1>3 (1). (In the formula, R<1> represents a saturated or unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon radical with the sum total of carbons being 4 and less, which may have a substituent group and X<1> represents alkoxyl group, halogen or isocyanate group.) |
