PURPOSE:To provide a vibrator for vibration gyro which can be manufactured easily and whose reliability can be improved. CONSTITUTION:A vibration body 2 constituting a vibrator 1 for vibration gyro is formed in cylindrical shape by a piezoelectric ceramic. The outer periphery of the vibrator 2 is approximately divided into three parts and then three electrodes 3, 4, and 5 are formed by printing, deposition etc. in the direction of longer axis of the vibration body 2 on the outer-periphery surface of the vibration body 2. The distance in peripheral direction of other two electrodes 4 and 5 from the electrode 3 is made equal. When the electrode 3 is used as a common electrode and electric field is applied between the other two electrodes 4 and 5, polarization is performed from the electrodes 4 and 5 toward the electrode 3. The electrode is in three electrode configuration and the electrode configuration and vibration body shape are simplified, thus forming the vibrator 1 easily and reducing manufacturing cost. Also, the number of conductors can be reduced, thus improving reliability. |
