<p>An oligonucleotide agent for use in revealing at least one Borrelia burgdorferi strain. Sequences common to all Borrelia burgdorferi strain groups are provided for use as primers in polymerase chain reactions, as capture probes in a solid substrate hybridization test in which target DNA is 'sandwiched' between the capture probe and a revelatory probe, or as revelatory probes in said solid substrate hybridization test. Sequences specific to each of the Bb strain groups are also provided for use as primers in polymerase chain reactions, or as revelatory or capture probes in the above-mentioned solid substrate hybridization test.</p> |
