Method for purifying amines which are employed for the removal of acid gas in gas scrubbing, characterised in that the anionic compounds remaining in the amines upon acid gas desorption are separated from the amine scrubbing liquors by an electrolysis, electrodialysis or high-current electrodialysis, and the anionic compounds converted into an electrolyte are broken down by an external anodic and/or chemical and/or chemically catalysed oxidation, and said electrolyte is recycled into the circuit of the electrolysis, electrodialysis or the high-current electrodialysis cell.
