<p>Fuel injector (50) has valve portion (52), actuator portion (54), and plastic overmold portion (56). Actuator portion (54) is made by inserting bobbin-mounted coil (74) into frame member (72) through lateral opening in frame member, passing fuel inlet tube (76) through aligned holes in both, and then molding portion (56) over them. Conical disk spring washer (80) acting between tube (76) and coil (74) forces one end of the latter against valve body member (68) while forming a barrier between tube (76) and other end of coil (74) so that plastic does not intrude into interior of mechanism during molding of portion (56). Object of invention is lower fabricating cost for specified performance of injector.</p> |
