Process and device for mixing liquids. According to the invention, with a suitable type of gas, frequency, strength, direction and cross-section, a periodically pulsating stream of gas acting on a quantity of liquid in a microtitration plate compartment causes rapid mixing of said liquid therein without the formation of bubbles in the liquid which could interfere with the subsequent optical concentration measurement process.
