PURPOSE:To secure the constant control for the horizontal amplitude in the color TV picture receiver using the beam index type picture tube by distributing the horizontal amplltude control index filaments at the right and left ends outside the effective picture frame of the picture tube and then using the signals detected from these filaments. CONSTITUTION:Color fluorescent filament groups 3 of R, G and B are provided in stripes on the inner surface of surface glass 2 with installation of guard band 4 between groups 3, and furthermore metal back 5 is provided on the upper surface of band 4. Then index filament groups 6 are provided on the inner surface of metal back 5 in stripes and with a fixed relation secured with groups 3. When such picture tube is scanned by the electron beam, the horizontal amplitude control signals are obtained every horizontal scan period. With these control signals, the horizontal amplitude can be controlled. |
