A vacuum cleaner with an electric drive unit, consisting of an oblong body with wheels, with a dust tank chamber, and with a drive unit chamber, whereas in the front body part, a hose connector is seated with an air inlet duct, whereas the air inlet duct is connected with the dust tank chamber, whereas the dust tank chamber is closed from the top with a lid, and the drive unit chamber is closed from the top with a rear lid, characterized in that the lid (11) covers the body (1) with the full set of parts and assemblies, whereas apertures are made in the lid that suit the shape and location of the protruding operating components and those apertures also suit the inlet (4) of the air duct (3) of the hose connector (2), whereas the air duct (3) of the hose connector (2) consists of the air inlet (4) and outlet (7), whereas the axis of the air duct (3) is broken, and besides, the inlet duct (4) axis is inclined at an acute angle (27) from the plane created by the contact points of the rear wheels (5) and the front wheel (6), whereas the outlet (7) axis is horizontal, and the outlet (7) is connected with the dust tank chamber (9).<IMAGE>
