The present invention relates to an installation of the movable point in the crossing piece incorporated in long welded rails and a method for producing such an installation. The installation, characterised in that the linkage between the movable point (1) and the element (2'') of the crossing piece constituted by two rails (3 and 4) is made by essentially mechanical assembly. The invention is more particularly applicable in the field of constructing railway track equipment, in particular crossings (frogs, points).
