PRODUCTION OF HEAT-SHRINKABLE FILM

PURPOSE:To provide a heat-shrinkable film capable of beautifully labelling the part markedly different in outer peripheral length of a part of a container such as a bottle. CONSTITUTION:A non-stretched film made of polyethylene terephthalate (Tg; 81 deg.C) is monoaxially stretched by four times in its longitudinal direction by a longitudinal monoaxial stretching machine to obtain a stretched film with a width of 85mm and a thickness of 40mum. This film is passed through a heat treatment roll to obtain a partially heat-treated stretched film. This partially heat-treated stretched film 2 is applied to a PET bottle 3 so that the heat- treated part 21 thereof corresponds to the vicinity of the part having the max. outer periphery of the shoulder part 32 of the bottle 3 and the heat-untreated part 22 thereof corresponds to the vicinity of the part having the min. outer periphery of the shoulder part 32 and the whole is passed through a shrink tunnel for 7 sec to obtain a PET bottle labelled from its body part 31 to its shoulder part 32 with good appearance.
