PURPOSE:To improve continuous spottability of resistance welding by forming an oxide film having the specified thickness on the surface at the side to face an electrode of aluminum materials. CONSTITUTION:The aluminum materials are joined together by resistance welding. The oxide film having the thickness of about 300-1000Angstrom is formed on the surface at the side to face the electrode of these aluminum materials. The oxide film is made to a boehmite film. This boehmite treatment is desirable to be carried out by using superpure water. Consequently, when the oxide film above about 300Angstrom is formed, even if resistance welding by using the aluminum materials is performed, covering of the electrode surface by intermetallic compounds such as Al-Cu is decreased, the continuous spottability is improved and lowering of welding performance is prevented as the electrode itself is not defective. |
