PURPOSE:To obtain a new carbostyril derivative useful as a peripheral vasodilator. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula 1 [R<1> is H or lower alkyl; R<2> and R<3> are H, (phenylthio) lower alkyl, phenoxy lower alkyl, etc.; R<4> is H, lower alkyl, nitro, amino, phenyl lower alkylamino, etc.; dotted line is single bond or double bond] such as 6-{4-[N-methyl-N-(2-phenylethyl)amino]-1- piperdinyl}carbonyl-8-ethylcarbostyril hydrochloride. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a carbostyril derivative of formula II with an amine of formula III. |
