PURPOSE: To provide an air purification apparatus requiring no replenishment of liquid fuel by providing a heating means around a cylindrical member having an air-permeable block in the air passage on its inside and forcibly circulating the air in the cylindrical member through the block by a fan. CONSTITUTION: The heating means 2 such as an air heating means is provided around the cylindrical sleeve 1 made of a heat-transferable material such as quartz and ceramics. In the sleeve 1, the air-permeable block consisting, if possible, of a catalyst material is formed, where materials 3 such as a molecular sieve of zeolite or silicate impregnated with a catalytic agent such as platinum, palladium and/or rhodium are filled. A member 4 comprising the fan 5 is disposed to circulate air through the sleeve 1 and a heat radiating member 6 is arranged between the sleeve 1 and the fan member 4. Organic substances in the air to be purified are catalytically decomposed, thus purifying and deodorizing the air by means of this apparatus. |
