PURPOSE:To perform recording for a long time with high precision by improving the compressing efficiency of electrocardiogram data and further improving the recording efficiency of electrocardiogram data to a comparatively small and low recording capacity digital information recording medium. CONSTITUTION:Digital electrocardiogram data Sd are held at a data buffer part 8 for fixed time. A noise detection part 10 detects a noise data part from the digital electrocardiogram data Sd from the data buffer part 8. The compressibility of detected noise detection data (signals) Sb is controlled so as to be enlarged by sending a control signal Se from a data capacity supervisory and control part 14 to a data compression part 12. In this control, the rate of distortion is varied corresponding to the quantity of information at the noise data part, the distortion rate of the noise data part unnecessitating recording is enlarged by controlling the compressibility, and the amount of compressed data is decreased. Compressed electrocardiogram data (signals) Sf provided by this control are stored in an information recording medium 16. |
