TRANSPARENT COMPOSITE PLATE GLASS

PURPOSE: To provide transparent composite plate glass capable of being destructed by sufficient blow and impact force without being crushed into fragments by using an elastomer E containing a specific wt.% of a comb-shaped polymer constituted of a polymethyl methacrylate macromonomer represented by a specific general formula and alkyl acrylate. CONSTITUTION: Composite plate glass consists of an acrylic glass outside plate with a thickness of 2 mm or more having two parallel surfaces and an intermediate layer containing a thermoplastic processable elastomer. The intermediate layer is wholly or partially composed of an elastomer and the elastomer contains 60-100 wt.% of a comb-shaped polymer. This polymer consists of 50-5 wt.% of polymethyl methacrylate macromonomer represented by formula I (wherein R is a radical polymerizable terminal group and n is adjusted so as to set the mol.wt. of the macromonomer to 500-100,000 dalton) and 50-95 wt.% of alkyl acrylate represented by formula II (wherein R4 is a 2-20C alkyl group).
