PURPOSE:To obtain the inorganic fiber-reinforced gypsum composite material improved in fire resistance by adding fly ash fibers as a reinforcing material to gypsum. CONSTITUTION:Coal ash is melted at 1100-1900 deg.C and subsequently processed into amorphous fly ash fibers having a chemical composition comprising 20-40% of Al2O3, 35-50% of SiO2, 15-35% of CaO, 3-12% of Fe2O3, and 2-5% of MgO. The produced fly ash fibers having a diameter of 5-20mum is added to gypsum in a weight ratio of fly ash fiber to gypsum of 0.01-0.4, and water is added to the mixture in a water/gypsum ratio of approximately 0.3-10. The mixture is poured in a Nutsche, etc., stirred so as to homogeneously disperse the fly ash fibers, and simultaneously suck-filtrated off to provide the objective inorganic fiber-reinforced gypsum composite material improved in fire resistance. |
