SILICONE RESIN COATED STEEL PANEL EXCELLENT IN SCRATCH RESISTANCE AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain a silicone resin coated steel panel having scratch resistance more excellent than that of a conventional one by forming a specific isocyanate modified monomethylslicone resin/fluoroplastic composite film on at least the single surface of a steel panel. CONSTITUTION:An isocyanate modifying amt. is set to 10-50 mass % and the addition amt. of fluoroplastic is set to 5-20 mass %. Pigment is added in order to impart design effect to a steel panel and 5-20 mass X of the pigment with an average particle size of 0.01-5mum is added. Since scratch resistance is insufficient when the thickness of a film is below 5mum and the processability of the film is lowered when the thickness exceeds 10mum, the thickness of the film is set to 5-10mum. An isocyanate modified monomethylsilicone resin/fluoroplastic composite film is formed on the steel panel by a method wherein monomethyltrialkoxysilane is dissolved in alcohol at first to be converted to silanol by hydrolysis to form a sol soln. and isocyanate is added to the sol soln. to modify the sol soln. with isocyanate and flouoroplastic and pigment are added to the modified sol soln. and the resulting compsn. is applied to the steel panel to be dried.
