PURPOSE: To provide an indicator clearly showing the state of interconnection between a tongue member and a buckle member. CONSTITUTION: A buckle member 46 interconnects with a tongue member 48 to position shoulder belts relative to a child in a vehicle. An indicator 72 connected to the tongue member 48 has a first portion 74 and a second portion 76. The buckle member has an opening 100 through which the first and second portions 74 and 76 are exposed to view. As the state of interconnection between the buckle and tongue members 46 and 48 changes, the portion exposed through the opening changes from the first portion 74 to the second portion 76 and vice versa.
