PURPOSE:To provide a production method of an optical fiber matrix capable of preventing a soot crack by smoothing a taper angle at the end of a soot stacked body wherein soot is laid on the periphery of a target material. CONSTITUTION:In this production method for an optical fiber matrix, a soot stacked body is produced by the multiple traversing of a burner unit 14 consisting of a first burner 14a and a second burner 14b in longitudinal direction of a rotating target material 12. The taper angle at the end of the soot stacked body is smoothed by locating a starting position L13 and a stopping position L14 of soot supplying by the second burner 14b respectively at the inner sides of a starting position L11 and a stopping position L12 of soot supplying by the first burner 14a. |
