PURPOSE:To automatically switch a shift point accurately by switching a power shift pattern to obtain a rather large acceleration power as for a shift pattern when a throttle open speed is larger than its standard value and acceleration of a vehicle is smaller than its standard value. CONSTITUTION:An electronic controller 1 calculates vehicle speed, acceleration, throttle opening, opening speed, accelerator opening, etc., in a calculation part 12 based on respective detection signals from a vehicle speed sensor 2 and a throttle opening sensor 3. A plurality of shift patterns 18-1-18-3 are selected in a shift controller 11 based on respective detection signals from a mode selection switch 5 and a shift position switch 4 so as to control shift stage of a transmission 7. In this case, when a throttle opening speed is larger than its standard value and acceleration of a vehicle is smaller than its standard value, shift control is performed by switching to such a power shift pattern that can provide rather large acceleration power as for a shift pattern. |
