摘要 PURPOSE:To enable it to prevent any power loss from occurring as a current flows to the outside by connecting an outer end of a piston rod to a bracket at the side of a car body via an insulating material, and joining an eye installed in a cylinder to an axle via a collar consisting of the insulating material. CONSTITUTION:At the time of expansion or contraction operation of a shock absorber, when a specified voltage is impressed on a cylinder 1 of an electrode member on one side and an inner tube 10 of an electrode member on the other respectively, an electric field is generated in a controlling clearance S being formed in space between both these electrode members. This field generation means that viscosity of an electrical viscous fluid flowing in the field is instantly varied to a hardening tendency in consequence, therefore the electrical viscous fluid, whose viscosity is varied, acts on a such a tendency as preventing the electrical viscous fluid from flowing in the controlling clearances. Accordingly, if an impressed voltage value is properly controlled, a damping action can be done at once according to the impressed voltage value and that the specified damping adjustment is made smoothly executable without any step difference.
