Acetabular prosthesis with rapid primary mechanical fixation and biological secondary fixation, composed of a hemispherical metallic acetabular cap (1) in which a plastic shell (3) intended to receive the head of the femoral prosthesis is accommodated. The inner part (10) of the acetabular cap (1) comprises at least one recess (11, 11') perforated with two holes (12, 12') for passage of the side branches (20, 21) of metal staples (2) providing the primary fixation of the acetabular cap (1) which is covered on its outer surface with a porous lining (16) ensuring secondary biological fixation. <IMAGE>
