PURPOSE:To attain favorable superelasticity by working an annealed Ni-Ti alloy contg. a prescribed percentage of Ni under prescribed conditions to reduce the area and by carrying out heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:An Ni-Ti alloy consisting of 50-51atomic% Ni and the balance Ti is annealed. The annealed Ni-Ti alloy is cold worked at 15-60% reduction of area. It is fixed to a prescribed shape and heat treated at 175-600 deg.C. By this method, favorable superelasticity is attained, and a desired shape can be easily provided. |
