PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. which has excellent flame retardance, does not cause blooming and gives moldings having excellent appearance, consisting of nylon 46 and a brominated polystyrene or a brominated polyphenylene ether. CONSTITUTION:Tetramethylenediamine and adipic acid are heated in an aq. soln. at 150-310 deg.C to obtain a prepolymer, which is then subjected to solid polymn. at a temp. not higher than the m.p. thereof. The resulting nylon 46, 5-30wt% brominated polystyrene of formula I (wherein 1<=n<=5) or brominated polyphenylene ether of formula II (wherein m is 5-200) and optionally, a flame retardant aid composed of a metal oxide such as Sb2O3, ZnO or Fe2O3 are blended. |
