PURPOSE:To easily produce hydrogen for distributed fuel cell, by contacting kerosene containing a specific amount of sulfur with an Ni-based adsorbent under high pressure and temperature to remove the sulfur, adding water to the reaction system and carrying out reformation reaction with an Ni catalyst. CONSTITUTION:JIS No.1 kerosene containing 10-150wt.ppm of sulfur is used as a raw material. The kerosene is brought into contact with an Ni-based adsorbent having a surface area of >=50m<2>/g under atmospheric pressure - 10kg/cm<2>.G at 150-250 deg.C in the absence of hydrogen or in the presence of <=0.2mol of hydrogen based on 1mol of kerosene. The Ni-based adsorbent is produced by supporting >=50wt% Ni (in terms of metal) on a carrier. The residual sulfur content in the kerosene is decreased to <=0.5wt.ppm by this treatment. The treated kerosene is added with a required amount of water and the mixture is introduced into a steam reformer filled with a reforming catalyst having an Ni-content of >=5wt%. Hydrogen gas for distributed fuel cell can be produced by the reformation reaction in the steam reformer. |
