PURPOSE:To provide a recording material decolored with a typed or printed record portion via the visible light, made readable when typed or printed again on the same portion, and excellent in stability against the light of a fluorescent lamp by combining a specific decolorant and a specific cation dye having an absorbing capability in the visible light area. CONSTITUTION:A cation dye expressed in the formula I or the formula II and a declorant expressed by the formula III are concurrently used. In the formula I, II, D<+> indicates the cation having an absorbing capability in the visible light area, R1, R2, R3, R4 independently indicate the alkyl group and allyl group. A<-> indicates the anion selected from halogen ion, perchloric acid ion, PR<->6, BF<->4, SbF<->6, and sulfonic acid ion. In the formula III, R5, R6, R7, R8 independently indicate the alkyl group and allyl group, and Z<+> indicates quaternary pyridinium cation, quaternary quinolinium cation, or phosphonium cation. |
