PURPOSE:To obtain a plastic lens having little optical strain, low specific gravity and excellent properties in transparency, heat resistance, shock resistance and workability and useful as a spectacle lens, etc., by subjecting a specific compound, etc., to urethan forming reaction and radical polymerization of olefin at a same time in a mold. CONSTITUTION:The objective plastic lens is obtained by mixing (A) a compound of formula I, e.g. 3-isopropenyl-alpha,alpha-dimethylbenzyl isocyanate, (B) a compound of formula II (R1 and R2 is H or methyl), e.g. 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate and (C) a compound of formula III (R3 and R4 are H or methyl; m is 1-2), e.g. phenoxyethyl acrylate and subject the obtained mixture to urethan forming reaction and radical polymerization of olefin at a same time in a mold. The compounding ratios of components A to C preferably satisfy the following relation. [{(total mol. number of acryloyl group in components B and C)X2} + (total mol. number of methacryloyl group in components B and C)] to mol. number of component A is in the range of 1.5-3.0. |
