PURPOSE:To enable the long-time continuous production of a film having metallic luster on a calender by incorporating specified amts. of a metal powder and a fine silica powder into a vinyl chloride polymer. CONSTITUTION:A resin compsn. is prepd. by mixing 100 pts.wt. vinyl polymer obtd. by polymerizing vinyl chloride alone or together with a copolymerizable monomer with 1-10 pts.wt. metal powder necessary for giving the resulting compsn. a metallic luster, 0.3-1.5 pts.wt. fine amorphous silica powder produced by reacting an aq. soln. of sodium silicate with an acid such as sulfuric acid, and, if necessary, 5-8 pts.wt. plasticizer derived from phthalic acid, trimellitic acid, etc., 1.5-3.5 pts.wt. stabilizer based on lead, cadmium, etc., and suitable amts. of additives such as a pigment. The compsn. is calendered to give a vinyl chloride resin film which does not cause plateout of the metal powder on the surface of a calender roll. |
