PURPOSE:To enable execution of multidivision driving without adding a circuit by a method wherein a resultant vector brought forth by three consecutive phase excitation patterns changes little by little at each step and the multidivision driving is executed in a space of an electrical angle (180/N) deg.. CONSTITUTION:Connections of motor coils are provided as A, B, C, D and E alternately. In order to attain multidivision of an intermediate stage of a full step shift from a position shown by a resultant vector [ABCDE] composed by five-phase excitation to a position shown by [BCDEA bar] thereof, an exciting current of a phase A is decreased in stages to a position shown by a resultant vector [BCDE], which is an intermediate pass position, and an exciting current of a phase A bar is increased in stages in the shift after the position shown by the resultant vector [BCDE). Next, three excitation patterns of <<ABCD>>, <<BCDE>> and <<CDEA bar>> are outputted sequentially and the rate of outputs of the three excitation patterns is changed over at each step brought about by a changeover of a sequence. |
