PURPOSE:To permit the recording of highlight sections as well as the sufficient representation of the maximum concentration with a simple structure by a method wherein the discharged amount of ink drops is changed by changing a head difference (head difference and/or driving voltage of piezoelectric element when plezoelement is employed) and one set of picture data is recorded by the combination of ink drops having two kinds of sizes. CONSTITUTION:A computer 200 divides picture signals R, G, B into higher- ranking picture data, generating bigger ink drops respectively, and a lower- ranking picture data, generating smaller ink drops, then, changes the data into the higher-ranking picture data and the lower-ranking picture data of respective Y, M, C, BK by a picture signal processing circuit. When recording of lower- ranking picture data is effected, main scanning is effected under a condition that a pressure in a head is reduced and when the recording of the higher- ranking picture data is effected, the main scanning is effected under a condition that a pressure in the head is increased whereby one set of picture is recorded by the combination of ink drops having different sizes. |
