PURPOSE:To provide a simulation method which changes the color, the pattern, the material feeling and the surface shape of an object area in a natural color picture individually or in combination. CONSTITUTION:An image processing method processes the image data showing a color image stored in an image storage by means of a computer. In a process 102, the color vector representing a distribution of picture element values of a specific area included in the image data is extracted in a color space where the color component value showing the picture elements of the image data is defined as a coordinate system. In a process 103, the component decomposition value acquired by decomposing the picture element value of the specific area by the color vector is calculated as a component decomposed image. Then the component decomposed image is changed in the processes 105 and 107, and the picture element value of the specific area is acquired again in a process 110 based on the changed component decomposed image. |
