PURPOSE:To facilitate debugging by the ICE of a read only memory (ROM) provided with a check program. CONSTITUTION:Concerning the data processor for executing processing based on a control program 21 stored in a ROM 14, a first area 22a is arranged for storing check data being the exclusive OR of all the data in the ROM 14, a second area 23a is arranged for storing a check data generating program 23 to write the result in the first area 22a by computing exclusive OR, a third area 20a is arranged for storing a check program 20a by computing exclusive OR comparing the result with the check data in the first area and checking the ROM data, and a fourth area 21a is arranged for storing the control program in the ROM 14. Then, the check program 20 is operated continuing to the check data generating program 23 before the control program is executed. |
