<p>PURPOSE:To secure the excellent oxidation of the uncombusted fuel C on a catalyst before the completion of warming. CONSTITUTION:A fuel injection valve 15 for jetting fuel toward an intake port 6 is provided. The secondary air discharged from an air pump 34 is supplied to the fuel jetted from the fuel injection valve 15, and supplied into an exhaust manifold 17 on the upstream side of a catalyst 18. The secondary air quantity controllers 39 and 40 control the secondary air quantity supplied toward the jetted fuel and the secondary air quantity supplied into the exhaust manifold 17. When the secondary air is to be supplied into the exhaust manifold 17, if the secondary air quantity discharged from the air pump 34 is much than the necessary secondary air quantity of the catalyst 18, the secondary air quantity to be supplied into the exhaust manifold 17 is set as the necessary secondary air quantity by the secondary air quantity controllers 38 and 40, and the excessive secondary air is supplied to the jetted fuel.</p> |
